A performance that brings classic music to the dance floor is bound to turn into a party, which is exactly where Cabaret Contemporain’s Transistor is headed when they showcase their eclectic sound from February 22nd – 25th , 2017.
Cabaret Contemporain is an ensemble of five classically trained musicians from France who defy genres by using a new approach to familiar music.
In Transistor, acoustic instruments are amplified through filters, creating sounds gen-erally produced by electronic samples.
Transistor is a mix of musical genres falling between minimal techno and contempo-rary. It bears similarities to Daphni/Caribou, Four Tet, and James Holden. Cabaret Contemporain are signed to electro/experimental label M=Minimal in Berlin, a subsidi-ary of Kompakt Music.
